The Brazilian star Offers Apology to Real Madrid Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

The attacker has scored five strikes in 10 La Liga outings so far this term.

Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his reaction when substituted in the recent heated Clasico clash triumph.

Vinicius was taken off in the 72nd min and displayed his frustration by walking immediately down the tunnel.

He eventually reappeared to the bench and, following his team's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barça's opposing player during unsavoury after the game exchanges.

"This day I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico," the player shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during today's training, I wish to apologise again to my team-mates, the club, and the leadership.

"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I continuously aim to win and assist my club. My winning mentality originates in the love I hold for this team and all it symbolizes."

He moved to the Spanish capital from his former club in the year 2018 for millions and has notched 111 goals in more than 300 games.

But his future in the Spanish capital is far from certain with rumors in the past few months suggesting that Real would contemplate allowing the player leave if they obtained a appropriate bid.

When he was taken off on Sunday, TV coverage from coverage provider Dazn picked him up saying: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I depart, I'm going."

In his latest statement on social media, Vinicius said: "I promise to keep battling constantly for the good of the club, as I have done since the first day."
