Significant Web Disruption Impacts Dozens Sites and Apps

A large-scale internet failure has affected many online platforms and mobile apps around the world, as users experiencing issues getting online after problems at Amazon’s web hosting system.

The disrupted apps include Snapchat, Roblox, Signal, and the language learning app Duolingo, along with several Amazon-owned operations including its key e-commerce website and the Ring home security firm.

Across the United Kingdom, the financial institution Lloyds was impacted as well as its subsidiaries the bank Halifax and the Scottish bank, while there were additional accounts of issues accessing the HM Revenue and Customs site on that morning. Additionally in Britain, multiple Ring device owners used networks to state their home gadgets were malfunctioning.
