Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft hovering near a popular California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a line of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Recordings shared on social media depict the chopper starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
